Belugga is what happens when a development team outlasts the companies it was born into. We're a focused group of senior developers in Nicosia, Cyprus — the engineering core of a lineage that started with the country's first internet provider and has been shipping web software ever since.

how we got here

A short history

  1. 1996

    WebWorx is founded

    The team starts life as WebWorx, the web development arm of SpiderNet Services Public Ltd — Cyprus's first internet service provider. Building for the web before most of the country was online.

  2. 2006

    Acquired by HNS Ltd

    SpiderNet is acquired by HNS Ltd, a division of the Francoudi & Stephanou Group of Companies. The development team stays intact through the transition.

  3. 2009

    Merger with PrimeTel Plc

    SpiderNet merges with PrimeTel Plc and WebWorx is folded in as a division, with the Francoudi & Stephanou Group retaining a significant stake.

  4. 2011

    Spin-off as BeluggaWeb Ltd

    WebWorx spins off as an independent company — BeluggaWeb Ltd — operating under the Francoudi & Stephanou Group's ownership. The name changes; the engineering DNA doesn't.

  5. today

    A focused senior team

    Belugga is now a tight, all-senior development team. More deliberate, no layers between the people you talk to and the people writing the code. Every project gets full attention from engineers who have shipped production software for decades.
